About

Well, I'm a 20-something, based in Tunbridge Wells, England. I run a great little company called Create Digital Media, specialising in mobile design and development with a really strong focus on user experience and delight. I absolutely love what I do!

I'm fantastically passionate and excited about everything I'm involved with and I'm never satisfied with 'satisfactory'; if something isn't the best it can be then it isn't finished yet.

Luckily, my beautiful partner, Catherine, is very good at keeping me grounded when I get carried away (which happens alot).

A Brave New World

Perhaps that should have read, 'A Safe New Blog'?

I don't know how many times I've had to write a 'welcome to my new blog', style blog post but it's one of those impossible things to get right. The problem becomes an even stickier one when you're moving on from an old blog – this isn't 'my blog', it's just the latest incarnation of my blog.

Over the years I've tried so many different angles when it comes to blogging, I've tried:

  • Blogging about my life.
  • Blogging about design.
  • Blogging about news (design / technology).
  • Blogging about things which I think are funny or interesting (a tumblr styleeee).
  • Photo blogging.
  • Movie reviews.
  • Blogging about music.
  • Even, 'vlogging'.

I think the problem for me has been that I suck at doing just one thing. As soon as I confine myself to one activity I immediately want to do all of the other ones too. I also suck at creating a balanced mix with these things too.
The other problem is choosing what's 'blog worthy' and what isn't. Is a carefully considered, slowly thought through pseudo-article/post about 'The effect photoshop's airbrush tool is having on the happiness and mental health of today's youth' as blog worth as 'Wow, this is a great burrito!'? Well, it's all going in.
As America thinks of itself as the great 'melting pot', so this blog shall be. A collection of thoughts, findings, ideas, movies, photos, and so on. All without balance, consistency or any of my usual traits.
Let's see if this works!
